李承森 研究员,博士生导师。现任北京自然博物馆馆长,中国植物学会理事,中国古生物学会理事,中国植物学会古植物分会理事长,《植物科学进展》主编,《植物学报》编委,《植物分类学报》副主编,《古地理学报》编委,《中国自然科学与博物馆研究》副主编,国际木材解剖学会会员,英国林奈学会会员,美国植物学会会员,美国植物学会古植物分会荣誉会员,美国克利夫兰自然历史博物馆客座研究员(1996年起)。曾任中国科学院植物研究所古植物室主任,植物起源演化与环境变迁青年实验室主任,研究所常务副所长(至1998年)。

遵循植物演化生物学的思想,从生命科学和环境科学两个方面,研究陆地植物起源演化及其与全球环境变迁的相关关系。长期以来,通过研究植物演化过程中处于重要环节的类群,整体重建重要的绝灭类群,恢复植物演化序列,揭示其演化机制和规律;同时获取生物演化事件和化石植物富含的环境和气候信息,从生物学角度认识环境演变过程和规律,认识史前自然灾难,在长时间尺度上探索和理解全球变化趋势。

已发表研究论文70多篇(其中约30篇发表在《美国植物学报》,英国《林奈植物学报》,《加拿大植物学报》,英国《古生物学报》,荷兰《古植物学和孢粉学评论》,德国《古生物图鉴》等国际SCI刊物上),专著2部,编著6部,论文被广泛引用,包括被90年代美国教科书大量引用。

获奖情况
